Embellished Sample

I have begun by creating an embellished piece of fabri. I chose a delicate French lace and dyed it using procion dyes, after several experiments I found that these dyes had a good strong colour and were suitable for natural fabrics. I then used a colour palette of jewel colours mixed with darker tones

The colours work well as there is a balance between, brights and darker muted colours of beads. I used a traditional embroidery technique known as tambour beading. Tambour beading........give brief history
I developed this sample into an embellished pair of shoes, taking inspiration from my Lesage research.

The embroidery and embellishment works well I chose to place the pink embroidered flowers as a central focus of the front of the shoe. I became interseted in embellished shoes and their history and came across legendary shoe make Roger Vivier, Insert brief auto........................Below is a pair of shoes which use a similiar embroidery technique.

The shoe uses tambour beading and is embroidered using seed beads and precious stones. The use of tonal colour give a subtle and elegant look to the shoe.

The above sample of Lesage is typical of his style around 1930, which is has particularly inspired my work by the use of delicate embellishment. I above footwear are typical of how Lesage can adapt his skill and work with other designers here with Christain Louboutin. I decided to challenge myself and create an embroidery sample and apply it to a footwear outcome.
